::sighs:: where do i start or even begin this man is the definition of ....R&B Smooth....

A couple of weeks ago, when Ryan Leslie released his self-titled debut album, I promised to come back with my review. My busy schedule has prevented me from doing it earlier, but ladies and gentlemen, trust me when I say I have not stopped playing this cd.
The long-delayed self-titled album kicks off with the hit single Diamond Girl. A perfect example of Ryan’s signature sound and lyrics. Next out was Addiction with Cassie and Fabolous, another radio-friendly song. The reverberation is on point! Again the bridge is fantastic. Backing and harmony vocals are perfect. Fabolous is one of my favorite rappers so I love this one. The pitch bendy synth at the end of the song is retarded!

The album has many clever song titles such as Quicksand and Gibberish. It delves into the feeling of speechlessness when someone special comes along. Shouldn’t Have To Wait has vocal parts reminiscent of John Legend. How It Was Supposed To Be is about love gone wrong and is a great song. The infamous R-Les slogan, “they try to put me in a box, it’s impossible”, is a fitting one for this multi-talent. As well as being a great singer/songwriter/producer, Ryan Leslie sure have the gift of the gab. His distinguished word choice is eloquent and he makes sure he incorporates that into his songs and lyrics. Both his singing and rap verses have the same type of wording which is a rarity in today’s music. Ryan Leslie has swagger. He set trends with his unique singing, clothing style, production, persona and use of smart sentences. The Harvard graduate creates elegant music for the grown and sexy.

Love Vs. Money is simply a masterpiece, The-Dream's writing skills have produce hits like J.Holidays-Bed, Mary's-Just Fine and of course Rihanna's-Umbrella

This time around the Dream has put together one of the most complete and fun R&B albums in long time (Since Usher's Confessions In 2004) What makes this cd to me so great is this mans ability to not capture listerners with dynamic, dope beats, but also to related to them with the wittuy and creative wordplay.

Everything “just works.” Whether it’s the heavy synthesizers on the album's first single “Rockin’ That Thang,” the pounding 808’s on the sexy “Put It Down,” the raging hi-hat on the title track, or the message of a woman’s desire for the material things in the album’s standout track “Fancy”.

This is one of those cds that doesnt have the skip over effect trust me.
